| Optimisation of colour change time for cable insulating |
a project in co-operation with
GOAL OF PROJECT:
Reduction of colour change time for the process of cable insulating.
The flow path, over which the insulating polymer is distributed in the head consists of channels and flow areas.
For shortening the colour change time
Colour Change terms: Crosshead Type UXH7SCC-V with
colour change system:

Development and installation of a computer assisted CCD-camera measuring system for measuring the colour change time:
Due to the high production speed which is usual in the process of cable insulation, the colour change times can by conventional means, be measured on-line only in a very inaccurate manner. Therefore a suitable system was installed in the first porject section for measuring the colour change times and at the cable insulating line. The colour change process was recorded with the help of a CCD-camera and a Computer. This way a trial can be examined picture by picture and the colour change time determined exactly.
